OVERVIEW
A sports coach is an individual who organizes either amateur and professional athletes and trains them the fundamentals of a sport. He or she trains them to compete as a team or individually.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Passionate about mentoring and motivating players
Good communication skills
Recruit new players for teams
Public Relation Skills to speak on behalf of team
Coach team to discover their weakneses and work with their strenghths, correct challenges they experience while training and prepare for games
Responsible for the overall wellbeing of players
Any other related duties assigned.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
While there may be no specific educational qualifications for a coach, many are thought to already posses a bachelors degree or certification in some field that they can tap into to chanell a good coach. They are but not limited to;
Managerial Degree
Life Coach Certificate
Sports science
Kinesiology
Fitness
Physical education
Physiology
TRAINING | COACHING | STUDY REQUIREMENTS
Having prior experience of the sport that they are training is not a must but would be an added advantage.
Be knowledgeable about the sport in question
Have good managerial skills
